Testcase : Alu Stainless Steel Cleaner

Type of analysis : 

Most suitable product for removal from rust on carbon steel in a reactor without attacking the surface.Without the use from any mechanical action ! 

 Test : 10 % dilution with product
‘Styro Alu- & Stainless Steel’


Start at 13h05, continuous mixing :

 

Result after 1 h., without rinsing :

Result after 1 hour, rinsing afterwards with soft running water :
(Attention, no mechanical action, only rinsing with soft running water)

Conclusion Test 3 :



After immersion in a 10% dilution with ‘WVT Alu & Stainless Steel cleaner’, for 1 h., there is no significant difference compared to the startpoint. 

However, as soon as we rinse with soft running water, we can clearly note that the entire rust layer is removed, this without any mechanical action.


 

 RESULT = POSITIVE

General Conclusion:

We recommend our product ‘WVT Alu-& Stainless Steel Cleaner’ to be used in a 10% dilution with plain water.
This needs to act for at least 1 h. (preferably longer) and needs to be mixed very well during the complete process into the reactor.

After the working period of the product, the reactor needs to be completely emptied and refilled with pure water.
This process is preferable done combined with good mixing in the reactor.  If possible we recommend doing this in a continuous process of filling and washing away the water. (A continuous in/out flow) during the rinsing with water. This way the rinse water will not have the possibility to saturate with the pollution.

We recommend our ‘WVT Alu-& Stainless Steel Cleaner’ in comparison with the ‘Decal FF’ (that has been tested earlier), because the ‘Alu-& Stainless Steel Cleaner’ is made of a combination of multiple acids. Due to this specific composition the rust clearly detaches easier and better.
A big advantage of this product (Alu-& Stainless Steel Cleaner), it also contains a content phosphoric acid. Due this phosphoric acid there will be a sort of a phosphoric/protection layer placed on the carbon steel.   For that reason we would like to point out that a dosage of min. 10% dilution is required for the acids in combination with the tension-actives to have enough functioning.  If there is a lower concentration applied there is a higher risk that on the pieces where a thick layer of rust is formed, not all rust will be removed completely.
